Key Social Care Courses
Essential courses for anyone starting or progressing in a social care career.
Child Protection Awareness
Develop essential child protection knowledge with this CPD accredited online course, designed for anyone who works with or comes into contact with children and young people. Safeguarding children is everyone's responsibility, and this course provides the awareness-level training needed to recognise the signs of abuse and neglect, respond appropriately to concerns and disclosures, and understand your duty to report. The course covers the four categories of child abuse — physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect — and explains the indicators that may suggest a child is at risk. You will learn how to respond when a child makes a disclosure, including what to say, what not to say, and how to record and escalate concerns through the correct channels. The course also covers the key legislation and statutory guidance that underpins child protection in the UK, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and the role of Local Safeguarding Children Partnerships. This training is appropriate for staff and volunteers in education, early years settings, healthcare, social care, hospitality, sports coaching, and any other environment where children may be present. Upon completion, you will receive a CPD accredited certificate that demonstrates your awareness of child protection principles — recognised by employers, Ofsted, and safeguarding leads across the UK.
Safeguarding Adults
Build a thorough understanding of your safeguarding responsibilities with this CPD accredited safeguarding adults training course, designed for anyone who works with or supports adults at risk of abuse or neglect. Safeguarding is a shared responsibility, and the Care Act 2014 established a clear legal framework for protecting adults who have care and support needs and may be unable to protect themselves from abuse or neglect. This course equips you with the knowledge to recognise the different categories of abuse — including physical, emotional, sexual, financial, and organisational abuse, as well as neglect, self-neglect, and modern slavery — and to respond appropriately when concerns arise. You will learn about the six principles of safeguarding (empowerment, prevention, proportionality, protection, partnership, and accountability), how to handle disclosures sensitively, the correct procedures for making a safeguarding referral to the local authority, and the role of Safeguarding Adults Boards. The course also covers the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and its relevance to safeguarding decisions. This training is suitable for staff working in health and social care, community services, housing, education, and any setting where adults at risk may be present. Upon completion, you will receive a CPD accredited certificate recognised by employers, the Care Quality Commission, and local safeguarding partnerships across the UK.

Social Care Training FAQ
The exact requirements depend on your role and employer, but most social care positions require a core set of training: Safeguarding Adults, Child Protection (if working with children), Health and Safety, Infection Control, Manual Handling, and First Aid awareness. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) expects care providers to demonstrate that staff are suitably trained. Our platform covers all of these topics and more, giving you a strong foundation for a career in social care.
Yes. All care workers are expected to have safeguarding training appropriate to their role. The Care Act 2014 places a duty on local authorities and care providers to safeguard adults at risk of abuse or neglect. CQC inspectors will check that staff have received safeguarding training. For anyone working with children, safeguarding and child protection training is also mandatory under the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
We offer several courses covering child protection and safeguarding, including Child Protection Awareness, Safeguarding Children, and courses covering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC), and British Values and Prevent. These cover recognising signs of abuse, reporting procedures, multi-agency working, and your legal responsibilities. All are suitable for professionals working in childcare, education, healthcare, and social work settings.
Yes. We have a dedicated range of courses designed for early years professionals, including Early Years Foundation Stage, Child Development and Schemas, Building the Ambition, Physical Activity in Early Years, Key Person Approach, and Observation and Assessment. These are suitable for nursery nurses, childminders, teaching assistants, playgroup workers, and anyone working in early years settings.
Yes. CPD accredited online training is widely accepted across the UK care sector. CQC does not specify how training must be delivered — what matters is that staff can demonstrate competence and understanding. Many care homes, domiciliary care providers, and NHS trusts accept online CPD certificates as evidence of training, particularly for introductory and awareness-level courses. Some roles may require additional practical assessment alongside online learning.
