Data Protection and UK GDPR
Understand your legal obligations when handling personal data with this CPD accredited GDPR training course, covering the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 in full. Data protection compliance is a legal requirement for every organisation that processes personal data, and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) can impose significant fines for breaches. This course provides a thorough grounding in UK data protection law, explaining the seven data protection principles, the lawful bases for processing personal data, and the rights of data subjects including the right of access, rectification, erasure, and data portability. You will learn how to handle personal and sensitive data securely, understand when and how to obtain valid consent, draft appropriate privacy notices, and recognise and report data breaches within the required timeframes. The course also covers the roles of data controllers and data processors, the responsibilities of Data Protection Officers, and the requirements for Data Protection Impact Assessments. Whether you work in an office, healthcare, education, hospitality, or any other sector, understanding UK GDPR and data protection is essential to your role. Upon completion, you will receive a CPD accredited certificate that demonstrates your awareness of data protection principles and ICO compliance requirements — recognised by employers across all industries in the UK.
Equality and Diversity
Develop a solid understanding of equality and diversity in the workplace with this CPD accredited online course, grounded in the Equality Act 2010 and designed for employees at all levels. The Equality Act 2010 provides the legal framework for protecting individuals from discrimination, harassment, and victimisation in the workplace, and this course explains what that means in practice for both employers and employees. You will learn about the nine protected characteristics — age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation — and understand the different forms of discrimination including direct discrimination, indirect discrimination, harassment, and victimisation. The course also addresses unconscious bias, explaining how automatic assumptions can influence decision-making and workplace behaviour, and provides practical strategies for recognising and reducing bias. Beyond legal compliance, the course explores the business and cultural benefits of fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, including improved staff retention, better decision-making, and stronger team performance. Equality and diversity training is widely regarded as essential for all staff, and many employers include it as part of their mandatory induction programme. Upon completion, you will receive a CPD accredited certificate recognised by employers and HR professionals across all sectors in the UK.

Workplace Training FAQ
UK employers are legally required to provide certain types of training depending on their industry. At a minimum, most workplaces need GDPR and data protection training (mandatory under UK GDPR for anyone handling personal data), equality and diversity training, and harassment prevention. Beyond legal requirements, courses in leadership, mental health awareness, and conflict management are considered best practice for creating a safe, productive working environment.
While the UK GDPR does not explicitly require every employee to complete a formal course, Article 39 requires Data Protection Officers to monitor staff awareness and training. The ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) strongly recommends that all staff who handle personal data receive appropriate training. In practice, most employers provide GDPR training to all employees as part of their compliance programme to reduce the risk of data breaches and fines.
Our harassment prevention courses cover the legal definitions of harassment and bullying under the Equality Act 2010, recognising different forms of harassment (including sexual harassment, verbal abuse, and online harassment), reporting procedures, bystander intervention, employer responsibilities, and building a respectful workplace culture. Following the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023, employers are now required to take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment.
